          Nicholas King's Map of 1802-
          © Library of Congress

The original of this map, which resides in the Library of Congress, was drawn by Philadelphia cartographer Nicholas King. King was commissioned by President Jefferson and Secretary of the Interior Albert Gallatin to compile a map for Meriwether Lewis that incorporated the most up-to-date information of the Upper Missouri River. Using the Arrowsmith Map (pictured above) and other sources, King created this map. Annotations in Lewis's hand suggest that the Expedition had the map with them en route.
Print size: 16 inches by 23 inches.
Note: Upper left corner is missing in original map.
Map comes mounted and shrink-wrapped. $40.00.
